Suggested fabrics: For the Dirndl, choose medium to heavyweight cotton, silk, wool, velvet, or corduroy. For the Blouse and Apron, choose light to medium-weight cotton, silk, rayon, or blends. The Apron is also nice in taffeta.

The yoke can be turned to the inside, or the outside for interesting contrast. Instructions are included for knotted buttons, decorative cording, soutache applique, and lengthening the shirt to make the galabia. The raised bodice is fitted and has a neck opening that can be placed at front or back. Pattern includes instructions for traditional embroidery stitches, fringed decoration, and beadwork. Suggested fabrics: Soft, medium-weight fabrics such as cotton, rayon challis, or silk; the upper sleeve and/or skirt may be of soft rayon or silk velvet. This dress is often made in many prints, which is a wonderful opportunity to use up bits and pieces of brilliant fabrics.
